The Lahanos Copper Mine is located within the borders of Şahinyuva village; 22 km south of the Espiye district in Giresun province.

After prospecting, exploration and feasibility studies were completed between 1988 and 1990 at our Lahanos Mine, ore, produced from trial mining, was enriched in our company's flotation plants in Tirebolu between 1990 and 1991. Upon commissioning the Lahanos concentration plant in 1992, mineral processing was carried out at this process mill. By mid 1993, the Lahanos Mine had to suspend its activities due to adverse conditions in the global market of metal prices. The Lahanos Copper Mine continued production, starting the second half of 1994 through 1997 but ceased operations at the end of 1997 until the end of 2005 for the same reason – metal prices. The preparatory work, started at the end of 2005, was completed in the first half of 2006, with production resuming in the second half of the year.

Produced copper concentrate is sold overseas.
